1. Korean Gen Z: maybe you're the oldie?(koreatimes)

Q1) How are Gen Zers different from other generations?

Q2) Have you had a conversation about MBTI with Gen zers? Do your generation talk about MBTI?

Q3) What is the meaning of Godsang?

Have you ever spotted your co-worker working with their earbuds on in the office and thought it impolite? Or ever thought your youngest coworker was rude because they weren't quick enough to help serve food and drinks at a company dinner? Such incidents have become something of an issue recently in Korean society, exacerbated by their appearance on the popular Saturday Night Live skit, MZ Office. And much of the discussion revolves around generational attitudes and the idea of a "Ggondae."

How Zs view each other: personality types

Korean Gen Zers often tend to categorize people based on specific personality traits, commonly using the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) as a framework. This gained momentum in 2020 and has since become a standard way for individuals to introduce themselves. I was surprised when I first entered university and noticed that nearly all my fellow students identified themselves with MBTI types. It became a fun daily ritual to ask each other, "Are you a T?" Notably, this trend has extended beyond casual conversations: marketing strategies now recommend products based on MBTI types, while content and communities cater to specific MBTI groups.

How Zs view communication: SNS

Gen Zers are known for their mobile-centric lifestyle and online communities. Thus, they have a particularly high demand for SNS platforms. In 2021, Korea boasted the world's second-largest SNS usage rate with Gen Zers among the heaviest users. The research also revealed that the average phone usage time in Korea exceeds five hours, indicating that online communication might now even surpass offline interactions. However, the pervasive influence of these sophisticated SNS platforms has led to a concerning trend where individuals feel compelled to maintain a specific persona. This pressure arises from the platforms' emphasis on users sharing carefully curated and attractive images of themselves.

How Z view education: a tool for individualism

Education serves as the primary means to pursue individualism. This individualism is often characterized by a strong desire to attend prestigious academic institutions and driven by personal satisfaction. Notably, Korea's social structure places immense emphasis on entrance exams and scholastic achievements, with recent government debates reflecting concerns over the escalating rates of private education and "killer questions" in our national exams. The number of university entrance exam re-takers has significantly increased.

How Z view careers: early resignation

The newly-coined term "Wo-La Bel" symbolizes the desire for a balance between Gen Zer's personal work and private life. This emphasis on individualism is evident in the soaring rates of MZs leaving their jobs early: in 2021 a staggering 65.6 percent chose to do so. Remarkably, 60 percent of MZs view this ratio favorably, reflecting their commitment to prioritizing personal fulfillment over traditional notions of career longevity.

2. Coin fraud scandal rocks Korean entertainment industry(Feb. 13, 2024, Koreaherald)

Q1) Have you bought digital coins? Do you know of anybody who bought coins?

Q2) Do you agree to the opinion-'if a certain coin is advertised, it means that people who created the coin(or early investors )are forming a bubble to make other people buy it at a higher price'?

Allegations of cryptocurrency fraud are growing against multiple South Korean celebrities and popular YouTubers, with some denying their involvement and some admitting to having invested in the cryptocurrency.

Winnerz -- a Korean blockchain sports platform that operates several businesses including issuing cryptocurrency -- has been accused of running a coin scam after anonymous investors alleged that the company was issuing fake cryptocurrency, gathering investments and forbidding investors to take out their money.

The total amount that Winnerz has allegedly refused to return to investors is not known.

Winnerz is accused of using a fraud tactic in which celebrities are recruited to bolster the credibility of the cryptocurrency to attract investors. In this case, celebrities could either buy the coins themselves, merely help recruit more investors for a commission, or do both.

3. Which seat is better: Window or aisle?(usa today)

Q1) Which do you prefer between window seat and aisle seat?

Q2) Do you enjoy the view of clouds and blue sky seen from the inside of an airplane?

Q3) Have you ever felt squished by other passengers while sitting in your seat? Did you yield or conquer the arm rest?

Window proponents say a view and a fuselage to sleep against make theirs the superior choice. Passengers who prefer the aisle seats say it's better because they have easy access to the restrooms, the possibility of a little extra legroom, and they're first to exit the aircraft. There is only one thing both sides agree on: the intense dislike of the middle seat. No matter what you choose, you'll need to know a few things before you make that seat selection.

First, a few numbers. Statistically, the aisle seat is more popular, at least among frequent air travelers. More than seven in 10 air travelers looked for an aisle seat, and the rest opted for a window, according to the website ExpertFlyer. Leisure travelers, who may like looking out the window, might lean in the other direction, but we don't have the numbers to prove it.

"The window seat is perfect," she says. "No one bothers you to move. You have complete control of the window shade, which should always be down. People in aisle seats are always being asked to move so that couples and families can sit together. I have never been asked to move in a window seat."
